I want to tell anyone who will listen how absolutely I disagree with the Roman Catholic Church’s position on women. I have been a practicing Catholic for all of my 73 years but with each year I get closer to leaving over this issue. My wife says give Pope Francis a little more time on this issue but I have my doubts he will change the issue in my timeframe.

In my humble opinion, women should be welcomed into the priesthood as well as all other positions in the hierarchy. The Catholic Church would be much better for the change and the balance that women’s input would give to our faith doctrine and liturgy.

I recently said I do not understand how women have accepted this injustice for so long. As more than 50 per cent of the practicing Catholics, they have the power to bring the Church to its knees if they would only stand up and demand change! If women en masse withdrew financial and physical support of the parishes in North America and Europe, I am convinced the hierarchy would beg women to come forward to the priesthood.

Let’s hear some commitment for action from all women!
