The People Speak Out

Local voices connecting globally

This is important: to get to know people, listen, expand the circle of ideas. The world is crisscrossed by roads that come closer together and move apart, but the important thing is that they lead towards the Good.  (Pope Francis)

Canon Law 212 calls upon the laity to speak up:

2 - The Christian faithful are free to make known to the pastors of the Church their needs, especially spiritual ones, and their desires.

§3. - According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons.

I would like to see some clarity on this Matter which I will let explain during my post:

I am single and a practicing Catholic. I have studied theology to look at the way in which I practice my faith. However I feel disconnected with the church because of my personal situation and the church position on artifical contraception and use of HRT AND HORMONES.

I have a long term medical problem called endometriosis and to date there is no cure for it just a variety of treatments to manage this very painful condition which include strong pain relieving drugs, surgery and the use of hormones like the contraceptive pill and other hormone injections which puts me into a fake menopause. When in this state I need HRT Tablets to protect my hormones as I am under the age of 40 years. I will likely need If to fulfill my role as a woman which according to the hutch is to procreate new life.

I feel that with the church position on these vital drugs I am condemned to heLloyd because the church says I am not allowed to use them if I wish to practice my faith.

Yes I know contraceptives can be used for medical purposes but when you hear the church speaking about this it refers to all use of these matters and doesn’t distinguish between using these products for medical purposes and using these products for preventing kids from being born. I would never use these drugs to stop myself from having kids as it isy biggest desire to have kids. However endometriosis can rob women of their quality of life and their fertility.

I think that there must be clearer definitions of when women can use the above mentioned products and for the right reasons.

As a practicing Catholic I feel it’s my duty to have kids as laid down many centuries ago and in the bible. I believe I should have then right to use IVF to conceive be that in married or single life for the following reasons:

(01). If Gaydon and Lebanon women/MEN ARE ALLOWED RO COND IVE why not me as a straight woman who needs medical treatment and there is a chance I may find Mr rift and get married

(02). If I were married before having kids and wanted to have kids and this endometriosis stole my handed to have kids how as a couple would we fulfil our marital duties to procreate. IVF is then answer to this solution.

After that it is not up to the church to tell women what to do or take as they are not God and they may say no tI using these drugs and IF when they meet their maker then they will find out if heir judgement is right or wrong.

Another thought I have is more a general theological debate rather than release ane to my situation if God didn’t want people to use contraceptives, HRT and IVF then why did he allow people to create them in the first place.{jcomments on}
